Who We Are
Established in 1995, Iowa Hoist & Crane’s inspection program is designed to assist manufacturers in providing a safer work environment for their employees and to prevent loss of production due to malfunctioning hoisting equipment.
Over the years, we’ve developed our inspection /preventative maintenance program to include additional procedures over-and-above what’s required by OSHA, ANSI, or SME.
We use colored tags to indicate the severity of the discrepancies found during the inspection. The three classifications are as follows:
Green: No apparent problem
Yellow: A potential problem exists or repairs to the hoist or crane are needed to ensure safety and prevent loss of production
Red: An unsafe condition exists and repairs are needed before the hoist or crane can be used safely
Iowa Hoist & Crane strongly recommends all discrepancies be repaired as soon as possible to prevent a potential problem from turning into an unsafe condition and causing unnecessary downtime.
After completion of the inspection, we forward a report listing the condition of your equipment.
Our inspection addresses the condition of the equipment at the time of inspection only. Frequent inspections, as defined by OSHA and ANSI requirements, should be observed by user/owner. Failure to observe periodic and frequent inspections may preclude discovery of flaws, which could be progressive in nature, eventually resulting in injury to the user.
